Situated on the southwest corner of a prominent intersection in the City of Long Beach, the 2nd and PCH development will bring retail and restaurants as part of a 245,000 open air retail center which includes paseos and outdoor seating and common areas. The project will consist of 95,000 square feet of retail space, 70,000 square feet of restaurant space, and a 25,000 square foot fitness club. The majority of 2nd & PCH will be a two-story configuration, with ample parking planned atop the development, accessible via ramps on the north and south sides of the property. Smart parking features will include signage of real time available parking and red/green lights to indicate space availability. Though the center will include traffic lanes, the focus of the project will be to make the space pedestrian friendly. The project site’s proximity to Alamitos Bay offers the developer a unique opportunity through providing clientele water views on restaurant patios, to create a destination experience for its guests.
Twining is providing GeoPier contractor quality control services during installation. Under separate contract, Twining is also providing geotechnical observation, special inspection, and construction materials testing on this noteworthy project.
